Each year South High has a tradition of helping out the community by doing its best to give to those who are in need of clothing. The Student Council does their best in this regard by creating the clothing drive. Members of Student Council ask the student’s to give back to the community by donating clothes to the Salvation Army. It’s a special way that our students try and help but senior Phillip Pethan states,

“It’s not just the drive that is special it’s also those people who donate to a greater cause that are truly special.”

Senior Phillip Pethan was one of the many who is in student council who worked to gather all the clothes they could for those who are need of a little help in their lives. Not only this but student council did their best to hype up the clothing drive by encouraging all students from freshmen to seniors to donate clothes to those who are in need of it.

During this years clothing drive there was a large amount of clothing that was donated to help those in need that the student council members were almost overwhelmed. When asked how much clothes they had received this year Junior Helen Flynn replied with,

“There was so much” along with stating “this may be one of our greatest years so far.”

Every year there were many people in the school who willingly donate their clothes for a great cause. Senior Ivan Pulido was one of the many who donated clothes and when asked if there was any special reasoning as to why he donated clothes he stated,
