It is officially the last full month of high school for the Class of 2024. For most seniors the biggest events of their highschool time is about to be starting, to insure that nobody misses any events, i am here to provide the dates, times, as well as places. With that being said there are many important dates coming up for the seniors. After a meeting with principal, Kevin Formalo, we were able to share the dates and times with everyone.  Starting in order:

• Wednesday, May 29th- Redwing Pride Awards 

Noon- 1:40 in the Auditorium

• Thursday, May 30th- Senior Signing day 

11:00AM- 11:45AM in the Field House

• Friday, May 31st- Senior Activity Night 

8PM-Midnight in the South High Commons- Throughout the school. 

• Monday June 3rd- Senior Grill Out 

11:15AM- 12:15 PM in the Courtyard

•  Thursday, June 6th- All SASD property is due 

At 1:15 PM

• Friday, June 7th- Graduation Practice 

8:45 AM- 10AM at Vallrath Park Bowl

• Friday, June 7th- Graduation Walk 

10AM-12:30PM at different SASD schools

• Friday, June 7th- Senior Celebration 

Starts at 6:45 PM in the commons and then at 7PM moves to Auditorium 

• Saturday, June 8th- Commencement Ceremony 

 Starts at 2PM at Vollrath Bowl. Seniors be there by 1:15PM latest line up will then start.

Redwing Pride Awards is an all school event, so everyone will be expected to be there. When sitting in the auditorium everyone will be sitting with their class. 

For Senior Signing day in order to participate, one will have to connect with their counselor at South High, with their after high school plans, from there your counselor would either tell the senior their next steps or confirm on their own. 

For Senior Activity night in order to participate, seniors will have to fill out a google form that will be sent out closer to the event. For the Senior Grill Out, the food and drinks will be provided, Principle Formolo and Associate Principle Thompkins will be cooking for the seniors. You can turn your SASD property in to the library. If you do not turn your SASD property you will receive a bill at graduation practice and the whole payment will need to be paid before the ceremony starts. 

For the graduation practice, you can wear everyday clothes, you will need to make sure you are there and on time. You will practice your line up, walking down and figure out where your meeting spot is. You will also receive your honor cords. 

For the graduation walk seniors will want to watch for a google form to be able to put in which school you would like to go too. 

For the Senior Celebration dress semi-formal and your graduation gown, you will not need your caps. The seniors will meet at 6:30 pm in the Field House for the class photo and then move to the commons at 6:45pm and then proceed to the auditorium at 7pm to finish. It is crucial all seniors are in the field house before 6:30pm to be able to make it in the picture.

 For the commencement ceremony, Seniors will be expected to dress formally and if you are not then you will have to go home and change before you can lineup. For the reading of your name at the ceremony, if you have a preferred name you will need to get an email with permission from your parents and the correct name.  Senior Deanna Jenkins said she is very excited for “the Graduation walk” because she wants to go through

 “James Madison because I get to see all of my old teachers”. Senior Kayden Bruggink said the senior event it was most looking forward to is

“Graduation because I am very excited to go to college and work towards my dream career”.
